When Good Men Go Bad (Men of 1302) by Dante D. Long
Who doesn’t love a trip down memory lane? Reading When Good Men Go Bad is a nice reminder of my college years… good, bad, and ugly! As opposed to my female perspective, this book gave me insight into the male’s perspective.
The book follows three men, two of which are graduating from Pembrook College, an HBCU. Although they have flocked together, they each have unique personalities adding their interesting aspects to the story. First in the series of multiple books to follow, When Good Men Go Bad tells Jasper’s story.
As Jasper adjusts to life after college, he has plans of starting his career and marrying his girlfriend from college. As the story unfolds we learn how Jasper’s friends and family really feel about Tina, the woman who he wants to marry. Through a turn of events we learn how much power a woman has over a man and how deception can turn a good man bad.
I love how the story is sprinkled with wisdom relayed through Jasper’s father Daddy Hooks. Different thoughts to ponder are presented as we watch Jasper unfold.
Dante D. Long has done an excellent job with When Good Men Go Bad. I will definitely continue reading the Men of 1302 series to discover how each of the men develop post college.
